Join the Lifeline Campaign Effort for the Future of Our Specialty
Research has shown that patients and even the medical community are too often unaware of the specific role anesthesiologists play as part of a medical treatment team. Anesthesiologists, themselves, see chronic external misperceptions of who they are and what they do. The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Lifeline Campaign is a consumer campaign designed to respond to the public misperceptions of the work anesthesiologists do so that you can move forward doing what you do best, treating the patient.
As a state society, we emphatically support the Lifeline Campaign vision and invite you to join the effort. It is a comprehensive communications program, delivered to a variety of external stakeholders that drives perception and awareness of the critical role you play in making modern medicine possible.
Please review the materials below to learn more about what you can do in your local area and for your State Society to accomplish the collective goal of ensuring consumers understand the value added to their treatment with an anesthesiologist present.
We encourage you to link to the Lifeline patient site from your practice Web site as well as encourage your local hospital to leverage this important patient resource. Additionally, please encourage your patients to follow Lifeline on Twitter at http://twitter.com/PatientLifeline.
As a member, please follow the ASA Lifeline on Twitter.
